Best Cars to Insure

Safest Car To Insure Knowledge Base

My car was written off by the insurer. Can I legally continue to tax, insure and drive it? The car is low value, hence the write-off, and it was offered to me to keep as part of the insurance claim settlement. The car is safe and roadworthy with only cosmetic side panel damage.
How do we best inform the public about the way semi trucks work in order to insure safe driving around them? I am a semi truck driver. These trucks can be dangerous if you don't know how they work. ie.. they are heavy & therefore it takes lots more time to stop a semi than a automobile. There are "blind spots". "Blind spots" are places like directly in front of us, beside us and behind us that we cannot see even with our mirrors. Other vehicles in these "blind spots" are putting themselves and others at safety risk. Semi trucks also need tons of room to make turns so we make WIDE turns and then we get some other vehicle come up beside us while making this turn and this results in an accident. Drivers of semi trucks must follow Federal Rules that the public is not made aware. The public also does not seem to see the signs on roadsides that say things like "Trucks use 2 right lanes" or in a construction area a sign says "Trucks use left lane only" or the split speed limit for trucks and cars.. ie.. speed limit 65mph trucks 55mph. That split speed causes impatience with drivers of automobiles THE QUESTION IS HOW DO WE INFORM THE PUBLIC REGARDING THIS MATTER

What is the best car with low insurance costs and the best safety rating for a young 17 yr old learner driver? I am looking to buy a new, or possibly up to about 3 year old, car for my daughter, soon to be 17, to learn to drive in. The car will be in her name and so I'm looking for something safe, but also as inexpensive to insure as possible. Has anyone gone through this process recently and so can provide me with any experiences or advice generally?
What kind of Used Car could I buy with $4,000 dollars? I am about to receive my full drivers license. Can anyone recommend any type of Used car make and model with the price limitation above that is safe, reliable and is relatively cheap to insure? Also, what is the maximum amount of miles should I go for when searching for a used car?. The car would be for Home to School, etc. Thanks for your cooperation. I am looking for a fuel efficient car with a acceptable or higher resale value.
How do you pound out a dented car hood? Besides taking a rubber mallet and pounding it out, is there a way to insure that is highway safe, even if not aesthetically pleasing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What should i get for my first car? Im a 15 year old boy living in central illinois and i will be getting my car in a year. I want a car that is under 10,000, safe, a coupe or sedan, about 150 horsepower, cheap to insure, easy to find parts and repairs and have a MPG of about 30 or so. What car matches these parameters?

My daughter is due to attend college in Florida, and I would like to ship her car from chicago to Orlando Florida. Can I legally drive a car with a salvage title in Oregon? It is still completely safe to drive, but the passenger side rear door was damaged. Someone wants to buy it, and has checked with his insurance carrier who said they could still insure it. Can I legally sell it as is?
Boulder, CO. What is the best car for a college student to own and drive there? I want my son to have first a SAFE vehicle, then comes the cost factor (price, mileage, insuring, etc.). He'll want to drive in the mountains to ski, etc. Risby, hello? Look at the start of my question==> Boulder, Colorado is "there" What is a Reno Megan? Never heard of it. Who makes it and where would we look at one here in US?
Any good first car suggestions? I'm about to turn 16 and I need to buy something cheeeaaapp (first priority). I know japanese cars are reliable, but they are expensive to buy used. I live in Colorado, where AWD/4WD is pretty important, but I guess I could get by with FWD. So basically I need a cheap (like less than $4000ish), reliable car, thats half-fun to drive, safe, cheap to insure, and ideally with AWD. Any suggestions? I know Subarus fit the bill there well but it seems they hold their value too well and in Colo. they're reallly popular and its a supply/demand type thing so the prices are even more jacked up here.
my car was stolen and then found with body damage on both sides of the car. Can I fight insurance for writeoff I have a 2004 subaru wrx sti. With the condition and milage it had before the accident rough value on autotrader is 27,000. Even after repair and I try to either trade it in or sell it I dont think I will get back the same amount of money for a car that has stolen/repaired on its title. Can i fight for diminished car value in ontario, canada? I am insured with TD insurance. I do not know how the car was driven while stolen nor any parts they may have tampered with and I do not feel safe driving this car anymore. I dont think they will write it off as the value of the car is high but I definitely do not think it's the same car even after repair and want to sell it or trade it in. Does anyone have similar experiences?
Just bought a used car. Insurance laws? I'm on my parents policy for insurance and I just bought a used car today. The registration is under ym dads name because I havn't had my lisence for over a year yet (9 mth). What I need to know is, can I drive today even though the car isn't insured yet? I talked to my agent and I informed her I was purchasing the car today and she said good luck, etc. Am I safe to drive it around? What if I get pulled over? I have the registration card. I just found out I am insured but I just don't have the card yet. I'm in PA. Can I just show the cop my other insurance cards in the mean time for my other two cars? Because it's on the same policy.
Car title and insurance? Hi. I would appreciate it if you guys can help me out. My boyfriend and his brother live in Hawaii. His brother wants to purchase a car in Los Angeles, where I live. He is wiring money into my account. All I need to do is meet up with the seller and give him the cashier's check. My question is this: Does the car shipping company need proof of ownership before they ship it? If so, is the car title enough or do I need to go to the DMV and switch the title to my name and then switch it again to my bf's brother's name? Also, does the car need to be insured in order for it to be shipped? If all I need is the car title as proof of ownership, should I write a Bill of Sale to be on the safe side and have the seller and myself sign it? I would REALLY appreciate it if you guys can help me out. Thank you in advance.

As soon as you'll complete the payment ,the shipping will start using DAS Auto Shippers. It will take no more then 3 days to arrive at your home address.(I'll pay the shipping).I offer 10 days for inspection, during this time,if the vehicle isn't like i described (although this will never happen, because the car is go) these are the last lines: Shipping back to my location will be paid by me,again,I'm telling you this will never happen!!! are squad cars insured? I was thinking about that as I was looking for insurance for my car, it's safe to say that insurance companies might not want to cover them.
How safe is it to drive from Mexico to Canada and what is the best route to take ?? My husband and I are spending some time on the Cancun side of Mexico and are thinking of buying a car here, then driving it all the way back to Canada, maybe hitting spots on the way like Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. Then up to the USA via LA,(side trip to Vegas)then up the coast to British Columbia ,Canada. The US is fine, been there done that, but i am worried a bit about saftey on the back roads of Mexico. Has anyone made this trip? Are there still random military stops along the way? Is it safe to make the trip at all? What is route to take to the USA border? Can we buy a car here in Mexico, then import it to Canada, via the states? Where do we insure?Canada or Mexico?? HELP!! This is a vacation !Thanks for all the legit awnsers!
If the world around me is "picking" on me; what is my best way to vent my anger/hate/frustration? A reckless woman broad-sided into my car causing injury to my neck and spine; I can still walk. The cop ticketed me for failing to yield; his police report contained gaps & errors. I was not made aware of my legal right to trial by jury (violation of my civil right). The judge found me guilty beyond a reasonable doubt dedspite various testimonial inconsistencies. I earned an 'F' for the first time in one college class and a 'D' for tardiness in another. The DMV failed to transfer my registration from my salvage title car to my new truck and I'm being fined for not insuring a car that's illegal to drive on the road (because of the salvaged title/unrepaired vehicle). I feel extremely violent urges overcoming me and I can't think of a satisfactory alternative to breaking the law to make myself feel better. I have no money and even less patience for ignorance. Can you suggest a safe alternative to acting-out violence as a resolution to my angry/fury?
Is there a purchase protection account provided by Yahoo Finance? How much? I received this email about a car I'm interested in, it sounds odd. Can anyone tell me if this it legit? "I am affiliated with Yahoo! Finance where I have a purchase protection account for $ 10,000.00. This service allows us to complete this transaction in a manner that is quick and safe for both of us. It acts as a third party between seller and buyer to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements and provides dispute resolution and mediation between parties. Yahoo! Finance is responsible to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements" thanks!
What has happened to our society? Really think about it, what has happened to our values, ethics? When was the last time you have helped someone out that you did not know? Why is it that everyone is trying to be a celebrity instead of a teacher, lawyer, or in another good profession? Why is that our nation has not moved fast enough to environment safe cars, and reused many of the product we have produce over the years in order to insure the world last longer for our kids? Why is it that some people feel being bad is a cool thing? And why is it that we can't apply the eye for and eye rule when it come to crime? If you steal something we chop of your hand, if you kill some one we will kill you, and I know what you may be saying justice has its ways. But why is it I am paying for someone to live in the jail with my tax money while I have never been in jail before? What has happened to our society?

Which car is more expensive, and nicer--a Volvo 240 or a VW Jetta ?? My stepdad won't buy a Volvo 240 1989 for me, he says they are expensive to fix. But his daughter has a 1999 VW Jetta. I really want that Volvo--so is it safe to argue that it isn't more or just as expensive to insure and fix as a Jetta ?? Please help.

is my thesis clear if not please help me make one? The more I walk through my neighborhood, the more I realize my streets are real terrible. From missing spend signs to potholes in almost every corner; my streets seem to worsen almost every day. I have been living in this neighborhood for about 11 years, and for those 11 years not in one occasion has the city tried to fix the streets. My neighborhood has witnessed various car accidents, residential damages, mildly injuries for pedestrians and in rare occasions a lost loving pet. The city can contribute to a safer neighborhood by maintaining the streets. This includes having caution signs throughout the entire neighborhood to insure the safety of its residence and other ongoing commuters. Proposing to redo the whole neighborhood would be a lifelong process, but impossible it sure isn’t. Yet by making simple tasks and taking them in affect it will benefit everyone throughout the entire community.
Car insurance question? I am 20 yrs old, i have been on my familys plan since i was 17. I took a 6 hour safe driving cource which i know lowers your insurance. I have a clean driving record, no accidents at all. My bf is 25 yrs old and hes been having his own insurance pays about $150 a month, but his driving record isnt clean. He did have a few points on his liscends a few years ago, but now in which there off. We just bought a 1999 Jeep grand cherokee and i wanted to know do you think it would be cheaper to get it insured under my name or his? We also live in NJ if that helps We just had a baby together and also live together. His father took out a loan and gave us the money we needed to get the car. Hes also a fedex driver so he has a clean driving record now
29 weeks pregnant and not ready yet! help anyone? I feel so unready for the baby to come! As of today im 29 weeks pregnant http://i28.tinypic.com/t9e3h2.jpg [and barely look like it LoL] so therefore I feel like I still have like 5 months left when really only have 11 weeks! its all coming so fast! I feel sooo not ready! Here is a list of what I have: 1.Some baby clothes, and they're all mainly onesies.. and we have the babys name picked out.. it's Summer Grace! 2.A new safe car [2006 Honda civic] http://i26.tinypic.com/255opqp.jpg for me and the baby, which is insured full coverage and everything plus its GREAT on gas, I cant tell you how much that is a money saver LoL, which is good in the long run, I wanted a car that I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking down [all my other cars did and were so expensive to maintain! And plus I have roadside assistance with the 100,000 mile warranty so I'm pretty much set in that area I think 3.Free rent since I'm living with my dad for free, and my bf is at home too so he doesn't have to pay rent either [btw I'm 18 and he's 19] 4.I just signed up for wic checks so I can get some extra food, and I guess it lasts till my baby is 5 years old? that would be so cool LoL 5.My bf and I both have cell phones that we don't have to pay monthly for at all [so we always have them to contact anyone for emergency, etc.] plus we don't have to worry about a cell phone bill 6.I graduated high school, so I got that out of the way! http://i26.tinypic.com/2ps0toj.jpg 7.I don't think this counts towards my list but I know its important.. I have my bf! http://i32.tinypic.com/2ezjlv5.jpg LoL he's the greatest ever and he'll be the best daddy in the whole world I know it[he's even reading all the pregnancy guide books for fathers I got him from the library LoL], supporting me all he can and loving me even more. the feeling of knowing he's going to be there for me long time [LoL] is just amazing, he means so much to me And a list of what I don't have! 1.I still don't have any furniture! I have 3 baby showers coming up in July.. I wanted to buy a billion things, but everyone keeps saying wait till after the baby showers? I want to but I'm freaking out cuz what if theres something I absolutely need that nobody got! ughh 2.My room is unfinished [also babys room] I still need to put in the new carpet and stuff! 3.Still need to figure out insurance GAH! I'll probably end up with the states insurance 4.I need a better job I only make $7 an hour http://i30.tinypic.com/1zmikav.jpg =[ and so does my bf 5.I need to go to college for 2 years to become a diagnostic sonography tech [ultrasound tech] so I can find a job and make some real money [plus have great insurance] but have no idea where to start with a baby on the way! 6.Oh wow this list is long 7.Daycare, or something, I have no idea how that's going to go. all I know is that me and my bf need to make money and someone needs to watch baby summer! 8.And I bet theres a million other things I'm missing too and cant think of them right now! GAH! Sorry this is soo long, I guess its kind of a panic attack! LoL anyone have any suggestions how I can get everything prepared in time? I'm not stressing or anything [i know thats bad for the baby and everything] but I kind of am freaking out..
I am looking at buying a car and the seller has told me she is affiliated with Yahoo Financials. Is this real? Below is the blurb sent to me. They actually want my address and such but I've never heard of this portion of Yahoo. Is it for real? Is it safe? Or a scam? I am affiliated with Yahoo! Finance where I have a purchase protection account for $ 10,000.00. This service allows us to complete this transaction in a manner that is quick and safe for both of us. It acts as a third party between seller and buyer to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements and provides dispute resolution and mediation between parties. Yahoo! Finance is responsible to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements. I will be getting bank type financing. This is just supposed to be buyer protection (like buyer protection for PayPal or such). You can't always buy the best cars locally. If you are looking for a special collector's item you sometimes have to go where the cars are. ;)
WHY?? Do our youngsters get punished more for bad driving?? With the new drivers act youngsters get six points if accumulate that they get banned .. Ok so shouldn't do it but here's my point i'm 33 got clean license but know someone with 17 points They get a days course to keep license and even drink drivers can reduce a ban by doing these!! The kids these days pay more to learn more for tests and more to insure cars and if keep to what told are far better drivers than when my age group took their tests!! Now my point is if the government is serious about reducind road deaths etc surely the punishments should go across the board if someone my age is repeatedly speeding jumpimg lights etc they deserve a ban AND TO DO the course!! However they get days corse because might lose their job.... sorry but tough they did the crime not us... Doing this the roads would be safer clearere and we'd reduce emmissions... Any ideas how to convince the powers that be STATISTICS can show what they want if young person involved doesn't mean it's their fault I don't disagree with DES below but as traffic op should know had one in car other day he was astonished at how many older drivers were worse when he wasn't seen... It not question of whether they drive badly after but why not be harsher on everyone set examples and stick to it. Highway code is rule book not advice so EVERYONE should be just as culpable
Should running The United States really be a popularity contest? Should we not have some standardized test that you should need to pass . Just basics ;addition ,subtraction ,multiplication ,division reading and some basic science . Seems that some people we have elected have forgotten these things ,never learned them or we would not be up to our collective eyeballs in debit . Our leader should know more then just the right people to make deals with to get elected . They should actually have to balance a budget . They should be able to make projections of the future wealth and health of this nation . They should insure that anyone working forty hours makes a wage that can support Themselves ,without the aide of others ,in a safe environment . Not some 12 dollar a night flea bag motel that is filled with criminals . On 10 dollars an hour it can not be done .rent is 700 utilities are another 100 minimum food is 100 car insurance is 200 car 189 and what about clothes and an evening out . Something is wrong in america . Anyone with a brain can see it

Turning 18... Invest? Save? Build Credit? Ok well I am turning 18 and I have been working for the past two years, saving most of what I earn. I already bought a car and I insure it on my own now, but will be heading to college, at which time my parents will pick up insurance. Anyway, My plan so far is to continue saving, and open up a student checking account. I also would like to get a low limit visa to start building some credit as well, and will probably have my parents use it for their purchases so I get some activity going with it. I want a line of credit, not a bunch of debt, ya know? I also have enough to get into a money market account, and will probably do a short 3 month CD for the summer and decide what to do next once I see how college is going. What are some safe investments for me to make? Im not looking for super high returns, just something that will assure me that I have a little bit of money in, say 4 years or so for when I get out of college? Is it better to do a 1 year CD or do 4 3 month CD's?
If I really wanted to Have a Great Marriage, I Would... (Part 3)? TREASURE OUR "ALONE" TIME. There is no more lovely, friendly, and charming relationship, communion, or company than a good marriage. -Martin Luther We often got o great lengths to protect our valuable. We polish our silver and wax the car, rent a safe-deposit box for the diamond brooch we inherited, and insure our possessions for the full replacement value. Yet we often neglect one of our most priceless treasures. A strong marriage demands an investment of time spent together--polishing and protecting, nurturing and affirming. Don't underestimate the value of a good marriage. It can provide you with lifetime of comfort and encouragement and a strong sense of family even after the kids are grown and gone. But marriage requires constant maintenance, regular one-on-one "alone" time. Don't allow the urgencies of a busy day to crows out the care of your relationship. Don't allow anything or anyone to interfere with those precious few moments you find to spend alone together. Every marriage is worth protecting. When was the last time you spend alone or one-on-one with your partner? When did you have that intimate talk together? Did you remember the dreams & visions you we're talking about when you we're still boyfriends adn girlfriends?

Republicans: Have you ever consider this? "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN” Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor. Joe begins his workday. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. It is noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. The FSLIC federally insures Joe’s deposit because some liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university. Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the taxpayer funded roads. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! Ford Focus (Owners Only Please)? Pro's and Cons! Gas Mileage? Is this car reliable? Have you had any major problems with yours? Does it have enough power/i.e./"get up and go"? I'm probably going to get a "sedan 4 door" so it'll be cheaper to insure. Do these models have enough power? I hate being the "slug" in traffic, I need it to have good power from a standing still position(waiting on a red light). Any other useful information or tidbits would greatly be appreciated. I'm serious in this question. I'm getting ready to trade in my gas guzzling Jeep to get an affordable car. I've never owned a Ford before and am a little hesitant. However I believe this car would be a safe bet. I do a lot of driving, and a lot of long distance driving so I need something that I will feel safe in and won't be afraid that its going to break down around me. Thank you for your time! And honesty!
UK cars and the current MOT legistation for 3 year old cars? Hi All, Noticed that there is a load of modern new cars that have defects and poor bodywork / sharp edges etc Everyday I see a car under three years old with a brake light defect Just because its new doesnt mean everthing is safe and working OK I have seen brand new cars FAIL the MOT test for basic safety areas and brake defects (FOR UK HACKNEY CARRIAGE TEST ALL TAXIS HAVE 2 MOTs regardless of age from brand new) I feel that the three year rule is a safety issue, and basically its allowing a new car to rake up mega miles without any safety checks or MOTS... you are supposed to have a car serviced but it can easily been overlooked , and you can still tax and insure it regardless of condition What do you think ? MOT keeps all cars to a safety standard, better than having no checks at all I feel all cars should undergo a annual MOT inspection
no claims bonus? If you have 2 cars, and one car has a guaranteed secure safe 5 years no claims on the form, and the other one doesn't, if you crash the one that doesn't do you lose your whole 5 years no claims, even though your other car has a no claims guartantee on it, and is insured by the same company??
How come Geico wouldnt let me buy a motorcycle policy? I told them I would be selling the bike soon and? they said they dont do temporary policy's. I already have two policys our two cars. And my husband used to have a policy with his motorcycle but he quit riding for a year. And now we want to buy a house so we are selling it. He has been in storage that is why it hasnt been insured. Now that we want to sell it. We want to put it in the front yard with a For Sale sign on it. And just to be safe we want it insured. I was stupid for telling Geico that wasnt I?? What can I do now or where do I go to get insurance on it so I am not paranoid something will happen to it! Any advice will be helpful Best answer is always given right away!
