Is it hard to insure import car in England?
Also how much does it cost to ship a car from S.Korea to UK? A friend of mine recently shipped a car from Japan to UK and it cost £1000 and took 6 weeks. And it was hard for him to get that car insured ...

- It does need to be a standard production model that the insurer can recognise. You will also need to re-register the car - see the link which has some good advice
- No its not u just pay more for insurance m8
- I bought a Japanese Mazda Bongo two years ago from a dealer who imported it and registered it. It was difficult to insure, we had to use a specialist and could not shop around for that reason. However we got some good tips from a Bongo members club online and the van itself was great. Low mileage as they have to use public transport for short journeys and in immaculate condition as they have to MOT every six months and they dont salt their roads so there was no rust or corrosion. They drive on the same side as us aswell so less confusion. I would recommend finding out if there are any owners clubs and asking people there the plus and minus of the particular model you want, you could get some good tips.
