Does an Ohio dealer license plate insure a car owned by the dealer when test-driven by a minor?
A body shop owns a number of cars and dealer plates. I am test driving the car for a week and I am a 17 year old licensed driver. Will the dealer plates insure me while i am testing the car out?

- To tell you the truth. I think you have to be 21 years old to be doing that kind of job with any state registered vehicle. Find out the company and give them a call. Just ask them what Insurance Company they're using because you were like interested in being insured in your state of employment but want to keep your vehicles registered in another state, they won't know it's you: the 17 year old who's driving their cars! Anyways, there is only a 30 day grace period in my state for registering an out of state vehicle DBA in California.
- HUH? Plates do not mean insurance! If you are an employee of the shop, and driving for a company purpose during work hours, the company insurance policy should cover you if you have an accident. If you are making a burger run at 2AM ... probably not. Check with the body shop owner or business manager.
