Best Cars to Insure

Non resident / citizen wants to insure own car in Canada?

I have a holiday home in Quebec which i visit regularly throughout the year, for 1-3 months at a time. I bought a car last year for personal use whilst i am visiting, but cannot find an insurance company. I have an international driving permit which i renew annually and specifically states for use in Canada as well as a full photo license issued in the uk. Can anyone be kind enough to put me in touch with a company willing to insure me? I have spoken to a number of brokers attached to companies, but it seems that unless it fits a "normal senario" they are not very helpful. Many thanks for your help and guidance in this frustrating matter.

  1. Try the following link, as it should get you a quote/broker willing to help. In Quebec, basic liability insurance is from the provincial govt and is payable when you get your licence plate. You should only need a broker to get optional coverages (collision, comprehensive, etc.)
