Best Cars to Insure

How do I insure my car where my roommate can drive it and it wil still be covered without putting his name on?

I am getting a new car and going to insure it. When I go to insure it how can I have it insured where my roommate can drive it and it will still be covered? Or is there something like "Random drivers coverage" to allow other people to drive your car and it will be covered. My friend's friend had a wreck in her car and it was covered but not sure how. My roommate will probably be the only one driving it other than me. I know in cases of emergency that it would still be covered usually if for instance I had to be driven to the hospital etc.

  1. Speak with the insurance agent. That's why they have that job.
  2. It will be insured any way that is how it done in Ga , However tell your insurance agent that is what you are doing To be safe. Good luck
  3. There is an insurance agency out there, a main one, but i cant recall their name. They offer this now. It covers anyone who is driving your car. You don't have to list names.
  4. It's called permissive use. Look for the guidelines in the definitions section of your policy.
  5. Since you share the same address, just add your roommate as a secondary driver on your vehicle.
  6. Insurance follows the vehicle, so if your friend drives the vehicle occasionally you don't HAVE to add him/her to your policy, and there would be coverage. Same as if your mom borrowed your car for the day, of course there'd be coverage. But your agent may ask you if anyone else in the household has a driver's license, you will need to disclose that information. You could however, tell them they only drive 5% of the time or whatever.
