whats the best road for a car drive from Pune to Goa?
I am planning on a 11 day visit to Goa. I am starting from Pune. Any ideas on which road to take? Also what could be a good place to stay for a couple that just wants to relax Thanks Mahesh, any idea as to what the road is called from Kolhapur. Is it gaganbawda?

- There's something called "old goa road" I hear it's beautiful though much longer then the usual route
- The best way would be via Kolhapur. Drive on pune bangalore highway and get into Kolhapur. Once in Kolhapur you can halt for a darshan at the temple. Ask anyone the route to sawantwadi. This route is pretty scenic and very beautiful. Once in sawntwadi it is approx 60-70 kms to panaji. Please not not much petrol pumps on the road from kolhapur to sawantwadi. Total distance approx 470 kms Road from pune to kolhapur is very good with lot of stopovers and petrol pumps which accept credit card
