Car title and insurance?
Hi. I would appreciate it if you guys can help me out. My boyfriend and his brother live in Hawaii. His brother wants to purchase a car in Los Angeles, where I live. He is wiring money into my account. All I need to do is meet up with the seller and give him the cashier's check. My question is this: Does the car shipping company need proof of ownership before they ship it? If so, is the car title enough or do I need to go to the DMV and switch the title to my name and then switch it again to my bf's brother's name? Also, does the car need to be insured in order for it to be shipped? If all I need is the car title as proof of ownership, should I write a Bill of Sale to be on the safe side and have the seller and myself sign it? I would REALLY appreciate it if you guys can help me out. Thank you in advance.
