- Rough guess. Assume the car will average approx. 7l per 100ks. Set the distance at approx. 1000ks. That's 70l at say $1.30 per litre. Roughly $90, if that.
- About AU$170. Prices fluctuate a lot, but that is about the price for 2 tanks for a <2 litre car.
- about 2 tanks fulls @ $1.30 ltr x 60 ltr tank? = about $120.00
- remember petrol usage does depend what you do between the destinations. For example, if you use the air conditioner constantly, it chews up more petrol because of the compressor. Stopping at traffic lights (like there would be anyway) and the weight load on the back of the vehicle, obviously, the heavier the more petrol it uses up. And how flat yoru tyres are
- From the Green Vehicle Guide, depending on whether you get the auto or manual with 4 or 6 speeds, you can expect between 7.3 and 7.7 litres per 100 km: http://www.greenvehicleguide.gov.au/GVGPublicUI/QuickCompareWebForm.aspx?CurrentTask=8b63ea00-81a8-4275-88b8-db96bd8847f0 From www.racq.com.au, the trip is about 870km (10 hrs), so you can expect to use between 63.5 and 67 litres. From motormouth.com.au, you should carry enough money to expect the worst that petrol may average about $1.30 (or more) per litre. In other words, roughly about $83 to $87! btw - To add to another answer here, at any speed over around 80km/hr, it's more fuel efficient to use the air conditioner than open the windows!
