  1. yours because with the rentals you have to pay for the car and pay for gas but with yours only gas
  2. drive your own so you wont have to pay for the rental and you dont have to be back at a certain day
  3. Personally, I would rent the van. That way you just pay for gas for one vehicle. No wear & tear on your personal car. Rental van will be new which means less chances of a breakdown along the way. If something happens to your personal car while driving there, your vacation could be shortened due to waiting for some unknown shop to fix your car. Shop around, enterprise has great deals. Good luck.
  4. I would also rent a van haul everyone in one car. Having 2 cars and following each other is a pain. One gets lost and hell breaks loose. That is what my Aunt did when they came down from Virginia. Compare prices it should just be easier to rent a van
  5. I would agree that renting a van would be the best option. Besides the already mentioned advantages you could share the driving on the way down, plus once your here you'd pay only one parking fee not two. The advantage of keeping your group together will outweigh the cost factor of renting a van.
  6. Use the gas mileage calculator below to help figure the cost. Depending on your rental rate, it may be cheaper to rent a van and just drive the one vehicle. Also, you could take turns driving so maybe that would eliminate an overnight stay? Plus - two vehicles doubles your chances of something going wrong (God forbid!). Have you priced out the flying option?
