Best Cars to Insure

Is it cheaper to drive my diesel truck or buy an additional work car?

In the long term whould it be cheaper to continue to drive my truck that get 17mpg: also the truck is not payed off. Or buy an additional car get 20-30 mpg and paying 2-3k for the vehicle. insurance is also in the equation

  1. get a car man diesel is expensive and bad gas mileage get a Toyota or Honda best choice
  2. i would put the money torwards your truck now and then trade it in or pay it off and get a truck that runs on regular gas.
  3. ^^ Diesel engines are generally more fuel efficent than gasoline. Anyways it would probably work out cheaper to just keep paying off your truck because you're gonna have to add insurance into the equation. If you were going to sell your truck then it might be better.
  4. save your money and pay off your truck. adding another car isn't the answer either. If you get 17, wait a year or two then try to trade. right now dealers are over-run with large cars and trucks and can't sell them. Your truck isn't worth near as much right now A friend told me he just took in a 2005 Chevy 4x4 silverado low miles....in March those he told me sold for like 20k...today he said he would be lucky to get 12... In a few months to a year, will be a better time to try to trade cars when dealers inventory of larger vehicles may start to drop down - and people aren't rushing out to trade for small ones
  5. diesels are a more expensive to purchase, insure, and maintain, but get much better fuel mileage and power. diesel fuel is also about a buck a gallon more right now. for you, driving your truck would probably be the better option
