What has happened to our society?

Really think about it, what has happened to our values, ethics? When was the last time you have helped someone out that you did not know? Why is it that everyone is trying to be a celebrity instead of a teacher, lawyer, or in another good profession? Why is that our nation has not moved fast enough to environment safe cars, and reused many of the product we have produce over the years in order to insure the world last longer for our kids? Why is it that some people feel being bad is a cool thing? And why is it that we can't apply the eye for and eye rule when it come to crime? If you steal something we chop of your hand, if you kill some one we will kill you, and I know what you may be saying justice has its ways. But why is it I am paying for someone to live in the jail with my tax money while I have never been in jail before? What has happened to our society?

1. Because this country has kicked God out of their lives and institutions, because they think man can do better which is not the case.
2. What has happened to our society is a lack of disipline. Each year, children's behavior gets worse and worse. Parents are not dicipling their children like our parents were and our grandparents were. Now you can get in trouble for spanking your kids. When children knew that there were consequences for their actions, the world was not in such a state that it is now. It is very sad. Parents are not raising their kids to learn to deal with disappointment and authorithy. Children are giving everything their hearts desire. If you are a parent reading this and are spoiling your children, please stop. You are not rasing them to be decent productive members of society.
3. Because most people in Western culture have become spoiled brats who think they should have everything handed to them without working for it. Because back in the 1970's some less than brilliant psychologists decided that even spanking a child was abuse...Idiots.... Because too many people have become desensitized by violence in the media. Because of the loss of morals. Because the public does not idolize Doctors, Police Officers, Scientists and Teachers.....Sad really.... Because most people have forgotten or do not care that they are destroying Mother Earth and that one day our offspring will reap the results of that apathy.
4. Society has become lazy and inconsiderate because it can. Politicians don't help at all. People's consciences don't seem to be too strong either. There's little fear of "getting caught" when wrongdoing. Allowing so many immigrants from some nations we never even heard of 30 years ago to migrate here don't seem to have helped either. To say nothing about the "illegals". Just watch America's Most Wanted and see the frequent episodes on "Russian Gangs/Chinese Gangs, etc. Why are these people allowed to stay here? Whatever happened to "undesirable aliens" that got deported, as they should be? I blame our government for allowing too many people in this country. WE HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE HERE! The more people - the more problems. Its common sense. And forget the nonsense about being a nation of immigrants. The immigrants that came here 50+ years ago, are not the same immigrants that are showing up today. Most of today's arrivals show up with their hands out and contribute nothing but their presence. By the way - I helped someone I didn't know just last week. I also do so whenever I can. Its the way I was raised, and my nature.
5. everything has become overrun with arrogance and ignorance.. and i would say rap music... but i would be doing something that i dispise... judging... hm.. i say that people in general just stopped caring... its sad of us all dont you think?
6. Our moral values have gone down the tubes and technology has a lot to do with the decline also. Many folks have also turned away from God. The western civilization is destroying itself from within.
7. let's see it is the leadership that that keeps sociedty on track and for twelve yrs other than the white house it has been republicansz and for the last six they have controlled all three including the white house so therefore......

9. our society has failed itself because it has become to confident and think we no longer need to work twords bettering ourselves.the reason we have to pay for other peoples wrong doings is becuase there is so much wrong in our society that we turn our heads from. theres not enough compassion and there never will be. our demise is the fact that human nature is to always to strive for the top. this might be why bad is the new good. the young have realized being good gets you nowhere and its true. we wont use environmentally efficient cars because there not as cool. human nature says being cool is worth more than the environment. this is our sick reality.
10. It is sad to see that you completely gave up. There is a lot of decent people , if you surround your self with them. A lot of people do volunteer work with elderly,poor,children or animals... If you are worried, and want to make a difference, look for ways to do it, and meet the people that do the same. You will be in a completely different world. Good luck!
