"A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN” Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor. Joe begins his workday. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. It is noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. The FSLIC federally insures Joe’s deposit because some liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university. Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the taxpayer funded roads. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have." angel...it has already happened. HELL---Did you mention that JOE will probably get killed by some drug addicted convicted felon out on parole while waiting for HIS LATE crappy public transportation because some Bleeding heart LIBERALS thought they would give a THREE TIME loser--just one more chance. Joe could be in a nice car--but since he is taxed to death--he has to rely on a POS because he can't afford the taxes OR THE GAS because of the liberals not wanting oil companies to drill for OIL in the USA--that his dollar is worth less each year because of all the money he has to spend BUYING FOREIGN OIL. That all the money his father paid into social security--would have been better invested in the STOCK MARKET--and would have made his FATHER A MILLIONAIRE--so JOE WOULD NOT have to work at a dangerous JOB, in a bad neighborhood.---That his millionaire father could have sent him to HARVARD or YALE if only he had invested those UNION DUES. That he would not have to pay so much for his CAR--if the bloated healthcare cost and extra cost associated with UNION mandates on the employers was not tacked onto the PRICE of his car. That he could have started a Venture Capital Company and had private enterprise bring Electricity to the RURAL AREAS. And he could be paying for his OWN medical through his HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT--TAX FREE and IF he did manage to get fired---he still has his HEALTHCARE because it is not dependent on his employment with his company! You make the assumption that Republicans don't want Clean water or safe products--That is what Lawyers are for. That his drugs and food are safe because of lawyers suing companies when they produce bad products.
13. As Ronald Reagan said, "There you go again!" That's a revisionist version of history. Those programs were put in place back when Congress still knew how to legislate. Members of both parties worked together to pass reasonable legislation that benefited everyone. This wasn't done by so-called "liberals." We could also show what has happened to these programs once the far left and their special interest buddies got hold of them in the past few years and drove costs up and expanded them out of control. Entitlement spending and environmental protection excesses have sent costs soaring. Union pensions and benefits have bankrupted industries and closed factories, costing jobs. Added layers of unnecessary regulation add costs that raise prices and increase litigation benefiting no one but the trial bar. It's not all sweetness and light. Keep sticking your head in the sand.
14. The implied assumption that conservatives did not and do not support conservation and environmental improvement and food and drug safety is not based on reality or history. And most of the other things in there are based on unconstitutional federal expansions of power. We like the Constitution and the guarantee of liberty, rights and economic freedom more than the small creature comforts that you Eloi like so much.

16. an old story. As you know, both parties have had a hand in what has happened to our country. Consider the democratic congress since 2006, then consider what they have done about it. Absolutely nothing. They have a lower rating than Bush.
17. Bravo, Wiz! Every one of the Republicans have enjoyed the benefits and standards Liberals fought for years to obtain for everyone. Now, we have tainted tomatos and millions of people losing their homes. We have the jobless, the homeless, the hungry and the hopeless! This is one of the best illustrations of all that Liberals believe in and have struggled to obtain that I have seen. Thanks!
