How do you pound out a dented car hood?
Besides taking a rubber mallet and pounding it out, is there a way to insure that is highway safe, even if not aesthetically pleasing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

- Try using a plunger...I know it sounds odd, but it works!
- go for the plunger
- Rubber mallet from the back side. Even a plunger as stated above. If the hood is creased on the sides, then it should be replaced. Hoods are designed to crush/bend at certain points during an accident. When this happens, the hood should not be reused.
- Go to auto zone and get a product called "Pops a Dent" it works great I used it on my old Lumina to get out two dents on the hood. My hood know looks it never even had any dents.
- weld some small pieces of metal as crossbars to help make it sturdy
