What should i get for my first car?

Im a 15 year old boy living in central illinois and i will be getting my car in a year. I want a car that is under 10,000, safe, a coupe or sedan, about 150 horsepower, cheap to insure, easy to find parts and repairs and have a MPG of about 30 or so. What car matches these parameters?

Ummm... If you can get a Z24 cavalire, or a Sunfire GT with the 2.4 DOHC engine (before GM switched the cars over to the ECOTEC engine that would fit the bill. it would be hard to find and posibly out of your price range but a SVT focus is simply AWSOME. very balanced riding car. on the more impractiocal edge of the conversation, a v-6 comaro/firebird or a mustang could be had in the pricerange you mentioned and exceed the performance you want, but be slightly harder on gasoline.
Get a Honda, they are pretty cheap and last a pretty long time so parts wont be that much of a problem but if the parts wear out they aren't all that expensive to replace if you know how to replace them, but if you don't then you will have to factor in the labor costs to get it fixed, but still not that bad. and as for horsepower and MPG it all depends on which Honda you get and what year it is.
Nissan Altima or Nissan Sentra spec V
VW TDI (diesel). Only has 90 HP, but will outrun almost anything on the road from a stoplight and'll do 90 on the interstate before you know it. (TORQUE, buddy, TORQUE!!!) Also, it gets closer to 50 mpg rather than 30. My '03 Jetta station wagon has 136,000 miles on it and just had it's first repair last week ($71.) Also available in Jetta sedan, Golf, Beetle and Passat (various years from when it was introduced in '96 to present). I feel absolutely STUPID that it took me from '96, when the engine was introduced, until '03 to discover these things. That said, I would NEVER go back to a gas engine car.

This doesnt have to be the one you get, but there will be similar vehicles for the same price later on!!
